On this Memorial Day, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank ALL of our American military and their families for the sacrifices that they make.... for our freedom.  Thank you for all you do for us, for your service and for your bravery.

 

I hope you had an enjoyable holiday weekend!  We had most of the family all together...except for the son serving in other parts of the world.  We were blessed to get to spend time with all of our grandsons.... they're growing so fast!  Here's the littlest guy on his new swing (it's a little blurry because he didn't like it when I tried stopping the swing to take the picture):

Isn't that the CUTEST face?  I tried to get a picture of the four of them together.... but with 3 of them under the age of two, by the time my camera focused and the shutter released, they were in other parts of the house, lol.

Thought I'd share a quick and easy little project with you.  This little acrylic project is from my new line of acrylic frames.  

 
This little "Bella" Shape is item # ACR15 and it retails for $2.99.  The shape comes like this:

It includes a piece of backing chipboard, an acrylic shape (covered with blue film to protect it in the package).  The holes are pre-drilled.  If you want to add more holes, the Big Bite Cropadile will punch through the acrylic.  You can embellish these little frames any way you want.... use beads and wire or ribbon to make a little hanger or dangle beads or gems from them.

Sunday Morning Pancakes

I think it's time for another recipe to put in the book we made in THIS post and in THIS post.  
 

This is my oldest grandson's favorite meal... homemade Sunday morning pancakes.  He used to spend the night with us every Saturday night and the pancakes were always a must on Sunday morning.  He and his family moved away recently, so I haven't made these in a few months.... but I thought maybe you'd enjoy them also.

ooooohhhhhhhh......

Hoohoohoohehehe.......New Toy!  Pazzles Inspiration electronic die cutter.  

Can't wait to take it out of the box and see what it can do!  

I've been debating which brand to get for awhile now, there are a lot of nice ones on the market.  This one, however, was the only one that could cut my shrink plastic.... AND it has the ability to cut my own designs.  That's definitely a must, lol! 

Do you own an electronic die cutter and if so, which brand?  Do you own a Pazzles?  I'd be interested in hearing your feedback.

Hoping to figure it out this weekend and make something with it.  I'll keep you posted....

Saturday Update:  Holy cow.  No make that.... HOLY COW!   Did I say Holy Cow?!?!?!?  This thing is ridiculous!  I am amazed at how EASY it was to set up and get started with!!!  I watched videos for about an hour, then decided to just jump in with both feet and work on some of my designs.  AMAZING!!!  In short order I was able to convert my designs, quickly and easily.  So far cutting has been a breeze, no problems.  I'm working on a T-shirt I've wanted to make for quite awhile now, and I'm cutting stencils for it.  I have a T-shirt pattern that I designed and I'm going to paint/stencil the front of it.  Well, I don't know how the shirt part of this project is going to turn out, but the stencil making has been a snap.  I'll share more info with you next week, going to go play some more. 

HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I should probably say... I have years and years of computer graphic experience, but the ease of use and the amazing videos on the Pazzles website make it pretty much a snap to figure out.  I think that someone with minimal computer experience could figure it out in short order with all the great information Pazzles has available.)

So far... I LOVE my new toy!  errr..... excuse me, my new business tool, lol.

"HONEY, GET THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!!!!!!!!
 
This past weekend, Dan was using his little lawn tractor to rototill the garden one last time before we plant it.  He parked it, and just as he got off of it, a hose popped off the connection and gasoline was pouring on the hot engine.  He automatically reached for the hose to reconnect it.... just as the gasoline pouring on the hot engine *EXPLODED*!  Not good. 

He yanked back him flaming hand, got the hose, hosed off his hand and started hosing the engine....then came tearing in the back door yelling about the fire extinguisher. I wish I could say my reaction was more calm and collected.... but all I could do was yell back.... "WHERE IS IT, WHERE IS IT?"  Sheesh.  

After a little Keystone Kop episode where I'm wondering what's on fire, trying to fill a pan of water (from an "energy efficient" faucet that is ridiculously slow).... sloshing water all over the house trying to take it outside.... I finally remembered where the extinguisher was and he was able to put out the fire.  

Hopefully the neighbors weren't home, lol.

Dan's hand is doing ok, blistered pretty good.... but he's definitely sad about the tractor. I'm pretty sure it's a goner!

Well, I've been a little remiss on posting this week.... here's the reason why:

This cute guy's dad (my son), was home for an all too brief visit. My son has been serving in far away places for many months, and was able to come home for a short R & R break.... then all too soon, back to harm's way. (Waaay too soon for Mom... these many months have seemed like YEARS!)  Huey's been keeping us company while my son is gone. He wasn't too thrilled about wearing this ribbon for my photo, but he's such a sweet big guy, he cooperated anyway.  I never could get him to look at the camera, though, lol.  

Yup, it was all about pride and the girly yellow ribbon I made him wear.  :)  He perked right up when I took it off.

Wedded Bliss

I thought I'd share this stamp set with you, since it's getting to be that season.... summer weddings!  This set of Cling Mounted Red Rubber stamps is from my new Spring batch of stamps.  It's JCS122 Wedded Bliss, and it retails for $24.95.  Here's the stamp set:

I really like this car with the bridal veil flying out the window.  Tonya added stitched accents and the acrylic gems to most of these projects.  Here's another one:

Cute, simple and quick.  Here's another project using my Bottle Sack Pattern.  The Bottle Sack Pattern includes 3 sizes of bags and is the perfect way to package a bottle of wine or champagne for the special couple.  The Bottle Sack Pattern is item #TBX12 and it retails for $6.99.

And here's one last idea for this stamp set.  This one uses my new Acrylic Shadowbox Frame #ACR20 Raine Large.  This frame measures 7 3/8" x 7 3/8" and retails for $7.99.   Really? Really, $7.99!  I think it's an amazing price (and manufactured right here in the USA).

The frame includes the backing chipboard, three layers of chipboard in the shape of the frame (these are the "shadowbox" layers), the acrylic front (which is protected by blue plastic that peels off), and the frame clips.  Here's a photo of the frame without the embellishments:

Mother's Day FREEBIE!

The little gift sack measures 3 3/8" wide x 3" deep x 6 1/2" tall. Print it on a heavy weight bright white card stock.  (Print TWO of the gift bag pages).

Bird Song Stamp Set Giveaway

I love this time of year!  The birds are out singing early in the morning, the dew is sparkling on the grass and the garden is tilled and ready for some seedlings....when it warms up just a tad more.  One of my new Spring releases was inspired by days just like today:

The stamp set shown above is my new Cling Mounted Stamp Set, JCS123 Bird Song and it retails for $24.95 (it's shown smaller than actual size).  

Here are a few cards made with this stamp set:




I love the way Tonya combined the images to make these cards.... this stamp set looks kind of Shabby Chic, kind of modern, kind of vintage....all rolled into one package.  Very nice with the gems, rhinestones and sewing accents.  She used a little of Tim Holtz's Distress Ink on the edges of each layer.

The shapes on these cards were made using my new EZ Cutts Nested Shapes Cutting Templates.  Shown above are EZC4 RAine and EZC6 Chloe.  These retail for $19.95 and are meant to be used with a swivel knife and a white cushion cutting mat.  Here are the template shapes:

Here's a little project using my new Acrylic Shadowbox Frames:

I loooove these frames, they are so much fun to make and there are a jillion different ways you can use them.  I also really like all the the big gem jewel accents on these frames. These are manufactured by us also, if you're interested in ordering them.  This frame is item #ACR14 Acrylic Shadowbox Heart Frame Small - retail $5.99.  The best thing about these frames is that they are so reasonable... this one measures approximately 4 1/16" x 4 15/16".  The frames come with the clear acrylic cover (protected by a blue film so that they don't get scratched in the package), several layers of chipboard cut outs for the "shadowbox" effect, the backing and the picture clips.  You add the papers and whatever embellishments you desire.  I'll be doing a tutorial on these in the near future.

OK, one more project:

A tissue box cover... which is totally appropriate for Spring Allergy Season!  The tissue box cover is made from my Tissue Box Pattern #XPT20, which retails for $6.99.  The pattern includes 3 different Tissue Covers... one for a rectangle tissue box, one for the box shown above and also one for a pocket pack of tissues.  The pocket one is perfect made out of Tim Holtz's Grunge Paper... makes it very durable.  Here's a picture of the cover of the pattern set:
