Steampunk and Darcie. Two words not normally used in the same sentence, lol. I've been having fun playing with all my new product releases for CHA. Tonya and I have been busy working on samples for the show, and I thought I'd take a minute and show you a few more of the necklaces I made using the new stamps and new U-Cuts.... and NEW acrylic charms. Soooo much fun! Here's one of the necklaces:
A BIRD, imagine that! Did I mention I LOVE birds lately?! This one is made with U-Cut #UC524, "Charmed I'm Sure", and Acrylic Charm Set #ACRM2 Free Bird Acrylic Charms. Here's another one:
I love this little house! Tim Holtz gave me the idea for this set of charms.... tiny houses. So stinkin' much fun! Tons of ideas for these charms, I'll definitely be making more samples using these after CHA. This one is from U-Cut #UC524 Charmed I'm Sure, and Acrylic Charm Set #ACRM3 House and Home.
And here's what I was talking about.... Steampunk. Hehehe. This charm is actually a little frame. The backing piece is solid, and it has a coordinating frame topper piece. The pieces can be used together or separately.
Lol, that one cracks me up, I love it. The antique lettering background is from my new U-Cut #UC522 Simply Charming, and the Acrylic Charm is from set #ACRM9 Wavy Ovals. Here's another one:
This one is made using the new U-Cut #UC522 Simply Charming, and the Acrylic Charm is from Set #ACRM6 Medallions and Frames #2. Those images are from one of the new stamp sets (but they're not that small on the set.)
The Ball Chain, Link Chain and Jump Rings are all from Tim Holtz Ideaology. I used Ranger's Glossy Accents on all of the charms to glue the paper to the charm. After CHA I'm going to work on some videos, I'll show you how.
ANNNNNND!!! I was telling you about the whole metal clay thing I was wanting to try out in the last post. Well I set it aside because I have so much left to do for CHA, but last night I was opening large documents on my computer and they were each taking about 5 minutes to open. So while I was waiting for the computer, I pulled out the clay. Decided what the heck, just open it and roll it out. Amazingly enough, in about 20 minutes time, working on it between documents opening, here's what I turned out:
OK, be gentle.... I'm a beginner! But I was shocked that it was so easy, quick... and it is 99.9% pure silver when it's done! I'm assuming most of you are stampers, scrappers and probably not metal clay people, or I probably wouldn't show this here, lol. It has a few flaws and I learned a lot in a short amount of time.... like it dries really quickly, don't turn your back on it while you work on your computer. One of them is back in the envelope, re-hydrating. However, if you ARE a metal clay person, I'd love to hear from you, as being a beginner, I love input! I used my new stamp set JCS0134 Simply Charmed to make the necklace. That stamp set was designed for the acrylic charms, but works great on the metal clay also.
These are all new releases and won't be available until after CHA...but if you're interested, you can call our toll free number after July 25th and order them. I'll be posting the flyer on the blog this week, so be sure to watch for that.
Let me know what you think of the necklaces... I'm thinking if you guys like them, maybe I'll make one of the silver ones to give away on the blog. Should I? Let me know. I'd probably make you guys work for it though.... like a thousand comments or something. ;) Hahaha.
OK, back to work for me, 5 days. Holy cow FIVE DAYS! ohmygoodness, really gotta get back to work.
See you soon!
Darcie

Should you make one to give away? Absolutely!! And I hope I win - they are all fantastic! The little house has really caught my eye.

I am so impressed and inspired! They are so beautiful. I can't believe they are your first attempt and you are self taught!

Oh Darcie, I am in awe of the metal clay necklace. It is absolutely beautiful! I am very impressed that this is your FIRST attempt! (I know antique, vintage and distressed are all the rage right now, but it's just not my thing.) But I do like the house, love the colors and the pendants for the doors and windows - too cute! My daughter is really into the little keys right now, this would be very sweet for her.
Try not to get too stressed over CHA, don't want you falling and hurting something before you get there!! HeeHee
Good luck at the show and have fun!
