Hi Blog Friends,
Well, we're coming down to the wire on the CHA releases... they have to ship soon, so hopefully things will be back to normal around here before too long. I keep hoping to squeeze a tutorial in here, but too many deadlines.... so I thought I'd continue the "Freebie" trend in the meantime.
First, I want to show you one of the projects from the recent "Darcie's Club" shipment (it shipped last week for those of you who are waiting for it). Here's one of the frames from the kit:
I'll be sharing details on the whole shipment soon, if you're interested in learning more about Darcie's Club you can click HERE and HERE for more info.
With the whole "zakka movement" gaining popularity, I figured.... who better to do "cute", than the one who designed "cute" for years. If you haven't heard about "zakka"...here's Wikipedia's definition:
"Zakka (from the Japanese 'zak-ka'(雑貨)or 'many things') is a fashion and design phenomenon that has spread from Japan throughout Asia. The term refers to everything and anything that improves your home, life and outlook. It is often based on household items from the West that are regarded as kitsch in their countries of origin. But can also be japanese goods from mainly fifties, sixties and seventies. In Japan there are also so called asian zakka stores, that usually refers to Southeast Asia. The interest in Nordic design or Scandinavian design, both contemporary and past, is also part of this zakka movement. Zakka can also be contemporary handicraft.
Zakka has also been described as "the art of seeing the savvy in the ordinary and mundane". The zakka boom could be recognized as merely another in a series of consumer fads, but it also touches issues of self-expression and spirituality. Cute, corny and kitschy is not enough. To qualify as a zakka, a product must be attractive, sensitive, and laden with subtext."
So with that in mind, I split my CHA releases up into "zakka" and "vintage".... which will make some of you very happy...my "cute" friends had a lot of input on the last batch of stamps. :)
Here's this week's blog candy:
This Acrylic Shadowbox Frame is #ACR16 Tristan. And here's the stamp set used to make it:
This is stamp set #JCS132 Cherish Time, and it retails for $24.95. This is a Red Rubber Cling mounted stamp set.
If you'd like to enter the drawing for both the frame and the Cling Mounted Stamp set, just post a comment on THIS blog post by Midnight, Tuesday, January 25. I will randomly choose the winning name on Wednesday, January 26. The winner will have until Friday, January 28 to email me to claim the prize.
AND! Here's the winner of the "Just My Type" set of cling mounted stamps from last week's post:

OMG, I am so in love with that vintage set! I am breathless when I first saw it, beautiful Darcie! I love its vintage "ness" but also, look how many masculine things could be made with it and well, lets just say I could use it with alot of my "tim" stuff, I know YOU know what I mean! Holding my breath on this one! :) Have a blessed week! Heidi

Great set--love the clocks--reminds me of my grandparent's clocks and how loud they ticked.

Love the clock stamps. It reminds me of my first alarm clock back in the 70's. Boy did that have a loud tick--it spent most of the time in my nightstand drawer!! Thanks for offering the blog candy. Have fun at CHA.
