The Show Goes On.....

Hi Blog Friends,

Well, in this case... the show goes on WITHOUT me.  :(  I'm still dealing with that ankle injury from last June (yep, really), and am having to sit this CHA out.  Sadness.  I would have normally traveled yesterday, so it was nice to have one extra day to ship samples and literature.... but I would definitely rather BE there.  I love the excitement of the show and getting to visit with all of our wholesale customers, and all of our overseas buyers. I've been back in the cast for the last 3 months (turns out the tendon was torn) and am just starting to make some progress with the physical therapy.... so I'm definitely excited about the possibility of getting back to normal.  If you're at the show... send me a picture of my stuff, lol! Seriously.  I have confidence that my Art Gone Wild family will do a great job representing my line at the show.

And, since I'm still here... that means I can finally share the new products with all of you! Here's the new flyer:  (EDIT - I split the flyer into 3 parts as some people were having problems downloading it due to size)

You can download a copy of the flyer by clicking on each of the images above.  The flyer is in a pdf format, so in order to view it you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.  If you don't have Reader, it's available as a free download on Adobe's website, click HERE to obtain it. Click on the Adobe Reader box under the download section.

The new products are a mixture of vintage and "zakka" as explained in THIS recent post.

Freebies!

Well, we're coming down to the wire on the CHA releases... they have to ship soon, so hopefully things will be back to normal around here before too long.  I keep hoping to squeeze a tutorial in here, but too many deadlines.... so I thought I'd continue the "Freebie" trend in the meantime.  

First, I want to show you one of the projects from the recent "Darcie's Club" shipment (it shipped last week for those of you who are waiting for it).  Here's one of the frames from the kit:

With the whole "zakka movement" gaining popularity, I figured.... who better to do "cute", than the one who designed "cute" for years.  If you haven't heard about "zakka"...here's Wikipedia's definition:

"Zakka (from the Japanese 'zak-ka'（雑貨）or 'many things') is a fashion and design phenomenon that has spread from Japan throughout Asia. The term refers to everything and anything that improves your home, life and outlook. It is often based on household items from the West that are regarded as kitsch in their countries of origin. But can also be japanese goods from mainly fifties, sixties and seventies. In Japan there are also so called asian zakka stores, that usually refers to Southeast Asia. The interest in Nordic design or Scandinavian design, both contemporary and past, is also part of this zakka movement. Zakka can also be contemporary handicraft.

Zakka has also been described as "the art of seeing the savvy in the ordinary and mundane". The zakka boom could be recognized as merely another in a series of consumer fads, but it also touches issues of self-expression and spirituality. Cute, corny and kitschy is not enough. To qualify as a zakka, a product must be attractive, sensitive, and laden with subtext."

So with that in mind, I split my CHA releases up into "zakka" and "vintage".... which will make some of you very happy...my "cute" friends had a lot of input on the last batch of stamps.  :)

Speaking of Love Birds....

Well, we're in that crazy time leading up to the last couple of weeks before CHA....and it is definitely crazy here!  I'll be sharing some of the new products with you soon, but in the meantime I thought I'd share some happy news:

This is my youngest son, Darin, and his brand new fiance Meghan.  Yay!  She is awesome, adorable and sweet and we're all extremely happy she will be a part of our family. Congrats, you two!

Happy Twenty Eleven

I had intended to post much sooner than this...but my computer was back in the shop.  He's now home, sporting a new motherboard (um, the second one in 3 months!).  Hopefully we'll be back on track!

I hope you all had wonderful holidays with lots of family, friends and yummy food! Here's 3 of my little grandsons on Christmas morning:

Yup, the littlest one has a spoon in his hand.... his favorite toy.  Has it in his hand 24/7... and snuggles with it to sleep, lol.  So funny.  And yep, the one on the left is the "littlest" one, lol.
