Recipe Book Patterns

Hi Friends,  

I shared a recipe book with you in the last few posts... I wanted to give you the patterns for the dividers and covers so that you could print them out and use them to make the album.  Here's another photo of that album:

And here are those dividers.  You can click HERE to download pdf "easy-to-print" versions of the patterns... or you can just click on the images below and they will open in a new window.  You can then print the image from the new window.  To open pdf documents, you need to have Adobe® Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.  If you don't have Reader, you can click HERE to download a free version of the program.  When the Adobe page opens, just click on the tab that says "Get Adobe Reader", and it will download for you.

Cookin' up a Project

I AM a Material Girl....

I wanted to share some close ups of my new stamp sets and was trying to decide which one to show you.  I picked this set "JCS0112 Material Girl" as it seemed appropriate for where I'm headed this weekend.  I'm going up to Puyallup, Washington for the "Sew Expo" show.  It's a rare occurrence that I get to go to a show and not be there to exhibit...but just for the fun of it.  In fact this is the only show I can say that about, lol. It's a huge show (400 vendors) and it takes up the whole Western Washington State Fairgrounds.  I'm excited to go soak up all the wonderful sewing/quilting/needlecraft goodness that the show has to offer.

With that in mind, now you know where the inspiration came from for this set of stamps:

The set shown above is JCS0112 Material Girl and it retails for $24.95.  This set is a larger set of red rubber cling mounted stamps.

The little gift bag below was made using my pattern template #PSX02 Tall Purse Pattern, which retails for $2.99.  Here's the purse:

The purse makes an adorable way to present a special someone with a little gift or baked goods. 

Here's another one of my new Acrylic Shadowbox Frames featuring this set of stamped images:

This frame is #ACR16 Tristan Acrylic Frame Large and it retails for $7.99.  The frame comes with a chipboard backing, 3 "shadowbox" chipboard layers, 4 frame clips and an acrylic shape for the front of the frame.  We embellished this one with our Acrylic Gem beads.  The Big Bite Cropadile can punch through the acrylic if you want more holes for hanging the frame, or for hanging the jewels from the bottom of the frame.  Tonya punched each layer separately for the jewel hanging from the bottom of the frame.  I loooove these frames, we're having a ton of fun with them!

How About Some Free Pumpkins?

Time to get back to the fun stuff here!  I was in Hawaii week before last, home for a couple of days, then in Rhinebeck, NY (which is 6 time zones away from Hawaii!) for the Stamp Scrap Art Tour show last weekend.  I really enjoyed getting to visit with all of you who participated in that show, I just love that area of the country.  My son attended a college in that area and I was fortunate to get to visit him quite a bit while he was there....'tho it made me miss him more being there, as he's way far away now and I won't have the opportunity to see him for quite awhile.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous with a hint of Fall in the air, crystal clear blue skies and a nice little breeze.  I was glad to get home and have been sifting through the pile of work on my desk after being gone so long.

Remember the photo of my son and cute pregnant daughter in law that I posted awhile back? My brand new little grandson arrived the day I left for Hawaii (awww), and I'm excited to be home for awhile now to get to know him.  Here he is:

Sooooo sweet.  Has a head full of long blond hair and the sweetest disposition.  Lucky, lucky kids!  (That's me after 22 hours of travel to get home from Hawaii...went straight over to see him!)

I wanted to share another of the new Clear Polymer Stamp Sets with you and give you a chance to win this one.  I really like this set and it will be perfect for Fall, which is rapidly approaching...although you wouldn't know it in this part of the country; the weather here has been in the high 90's to over 100 degrees this last week.  This is POL10 Flourish Pumpkin:

This card uses the following papers from my printed paper line:  PA1355 Verona Fall, PA1385 Juneau Brown Distress, PA1369 Grunge Leaves Orange.  The pumpkins were stamped, cut out, then aged with Tim Holtz's Distress Inks www.stampersanonymous.com. After we applied the Distress Ink to the edges, we sprayed the images with Perfect Pearls (first gold, then white) mixed with water in a Mini Mister.  (Fill the mister with water and add approximately 1/8 tsp. of the pearl powder.  Shake well, then spray the images.)  Here's another card:

This card uses my printed papers PA1369 Grunge Leaves Orange and PA1385 Juneau Brown Distress.  We aged the edges the same as the previous card and sprayed with perfect pearls.  Here's one more card made with this set of stamps:

This one uses my printed papers PA1355 Verona Fall and PA1385 Juneau Brown Distress. Here's a project made using my Jumbo Purse Pattern PSX03:

Three Words... Birthday. Shoe. Shopping.

This little Heart Purse Gift Box was made using my Heart Purse Pattern, Item #PTX12 - $1.99.  The papers used on this project are new additions to my paper line:  SPAC1353 Malta and SPAC1380 Antique Red Flower.  The swatches below are the papers used on these projects:

The papers in our line are all available in the following sizes:

8 1/2" x 11 printed on text weight paper - These item numbers all begin with PA. $.47 per sheet.

8 1/2" x 11" printed on 80 lb. card stock - These item numbers all begin with PAC.   $.89 per sheet.

12" x 12" printed on text weight paper - These item numbers all begin with PTW.  $.85 per sheet.

So, basically, any of our papers can be ordered in any of those four sizes.  Pretty versatile, huh?

Tonya did a great job on these samples, didn't she?  I like all the stitching accents.  I've been stitching up baby quilts and bibs around here and the sewing machine has been out for awhile.  My new little grandson is due to arrive soon, so we're anxiously awaiting his arrival...Grandson # FOUR!!  Can you believe that?  (OK, doesn't anyone have any girl genes in this family?!?  Four sons, four grandsons... no I'm not complaining, lol, they're so much fun!)

I'm a lucky mama, aren't these guys cute?  I love this picture!!

Free Drawing - Clear Polymer Stamp Set

As I shared with you in the last post, we have 13 new clear polymer stamp sets.  I wanted to share a few more photos of projects with you.  If you'd like to view a printable pdf version of the flyer, click on the flyer image below or click HERE. 

 

I had a lot of fun designing the newest batch of images.  This set in particular I thought was funny.  I guess I never thought I would be designing skull paper for Christmas images, but I kind of like the way it turned out.  This set is item #POL12 Shiver Me Timbers:

Here's a couple of projects made using this set:

The card above uses one of my new papers -  PAC1386 Skull Lime (8 1/2" x 11" printed card stock).  The Treasure Map in the background of the card was made with my U-Cut item # UC483 Shiver Me Timbers.  The edges of the map and the stamped images on all of the projects shown in this post were given a grunge look by using Tim Holtz's Distress inks (Faded Jeans, Vintage Photo, and Walnut) and the alcohol ink applicator. Here's a little photo of the U-Cut that goes with this set:

  My "U-Cuts" are 8 1/2" x 11" sheets of printed images that can be cut out and used on scrapbook pages or any type of paper crafts.  Here's another project:

The Skull Lime paper was used on both of the projects above, item #PAC1386. 

And here's one that's not in the flyer, it's so new!

This one was made using my new Jumbo U-Cut to make the little gift sack.  It is item #SKUC59 Shiver Me Timbers Gift Sack.  Here's a little photo of what the product looks like:

  

These Jumbo U-Cuts are quick and easy little gift projects, especially for the holidays.  It's a 12" x 18" sheet with the project all pre-printed to shape, all you do is cut it out and assemble.  If you're interested in ordering any of the products shown here, they can be ordered by calling our toll free number 1-800-945-3980.  

I made a batch of yummy Buried Treasure Cookies to go inside the sack.  They have a peanut butter, vanilla, chocolate filling inside of the cookie and are super simple.

Here's my Chocolate Lab, he's in stealth mode waiting for me to turn my back on the cookies.  He loooooves peanut butter and is very interested in my little photography session here with the cookies!  His name is Chaco (named after the river sandals, we're river rafters).  OK, that's a goofy photo.... :)

Back from CHA

Hi Friends,

What a fun week we had at the CHA show in Orlando last week.  We were pleased with the amount of traffic in the booth, even though the show was a little smaller this year.  We had the opportunity to talk to people from all over the world... including Canada, England, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Aruba, Costa Rica, Mexico, and even Saudia Arabia (!).

The new flyer features 13 different stamp sets, along with our new papers, templates and U-Cuts.  By popular request, we produced this new batch of stamps in clear polymer and the sets are retailing for $14.95.  We will also be manufacturing some of the images as wood mounted rubber stamps.

Here's a closeup of one of the top selling sets from the show:

We used Tim Holtz's www.timholtz.com  Distress Inks to stamp the images, then used his blending tool and more Distress Ink on the edges of the images after they were cut out, to give them a hint of grunge.  Then we spritzed the cutouts with Ranger's Mini Mister filled with water and about a pea size scoop of Perfect Pearls (the white one - named Perfect Pearl) Check out some of the projects below:

The background on this card is from my "U-Cut" #UC488 Flourish Snowman.  The torn snow paper on the bottom of the card is one of the new papers in my line #PA1382 Snowflake Swirl.   Here's a little photo of the U-Cut:

  

Here's another cool project using this stamp set:

I love the way this stocking turned out!  (Another wonderful project put together by my lovely assistant, Tonya.)  It was made using my Stocking Pattern (Item #SKX01). 

The papers used on the stocking are also new additions to my line.  These jumbo sized sheets measure 12" x 18" and are printed on 80# card stock.  The cuff is made from item #SPAC1381 Juneau Green, and the brown background paper is item #SPAC1363 Sophie.  The torn snowflake border on the bottom of the stocking is #PAC1382 Snowflake Swirl and the frame around the window is item #PAC1357 Spencer.  Additional ordering information on all of the items can be found in the flyer:  Download Darcies 2009 Winter Flyer1 .

OK, this one is a little out of character for me, I know... but I thought it was funny.  It came about because of the saying "Santa is very jolly... because he knows where all the bad girls live".  I had already drawn the girl in the Santa suit, and decided it kind of fit in with that saying. And, no, the girl on the martini glass IS NOT pole dancing, lol.  (Already had some comments on that!)  

This card features the following new papers from my line:  PA1383 Tiny Random Dot Blue, PA1391 Martini Madness, PA1353 Malta, PA1377 Polkaty Polka.
